Day 1
After arrival we check in the hotel for a rest. In the 17th century Amsterdam was the biggest merchant town of the world. Its wealth originated from the trade that the Dutch seafarers conducted all over the world. Along the famous canals the rich merchants built there impressing houses and they gave famous artists as Rembrandt orders for the decoration.
We alse take a walk around the small canals in the Red Light Destrict.
Day 2
We have a walking tour through the lovely city with its famous canals ans old merchant houses. We pass along the old university grounds, the big Dam square with the former City Hall, now Royal Palace and through the quite courtyard Begijnhof. During this walk we make a 1 hour boat-trip ons the canals and visit a diamond factory.
In the afternoon we leave for a visit to the authentic village Zaandam. You will visit the unique neighbourhoud along the river Zaan with wooden houses and windmills, where you can see many craftman at work.
We drive to Brussels, capital of Belgium and Europe. Brussels has a lot of offices from the European Union, but its centre dates from the late medieval times and it has a magnificent Main Sqaire with the Town Hall and the symol of Brussels, the famous Manneken Pis. We also see the Atomium, specialy built for the World Expo of 1958.
Day 3
We leave for Paris. It has been the capital since medieval times and boaste on many interesting sites and buildings as : Triumphal Arch, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Champs-Elysées and the Notre-Dame. We make a big city tour and start at the Notre-Dame church, then a walk along the famous Chams-Elysées with the Louvre Museum. Here you can see the Mona Lisa, and sculptures from Michelangelo. Then to the Place de la Concorde with the oldest monument in Paris : an Egyptian obelisk.
In the afternoon you also have some time for shopping in the famous Galleries La Fayettes.
Then we visit the Monmartre district with the Sacre-Coeur church. Beautifull view over Paris.
In the evening an optional visit to a night show in the Moulin Rouge or Lido is possible.
Day 4
In the morning visit the Eiffel Tower. It was built at the end of the 19th century for the World Expo, we have a magnificent view from the first floor. Drive to Versailles to see the famous castle of Louis XIV. After a walk throug the gardens we drive to the small country of Luxemburg.
The capital Luxemburg is an ancient fortified city, resting on a plateau high above de river. During a city tour we see the famous bridges that span this grand canyon around the old center.
Day 5
We leave Luxemburg for a visit to Trier. Here we see the 2000 year old Roman Black gate and the house where Karl Marx was born in 1818. We continue to Frankfurt, financial center of germany. We see the Roman Square in the heart of the cityand the Opera House dated from 1880. In the 13th century Bartholomew cathedral 10 German emperors have been crowned since the year 800.
Day 6
Drive along the romantic Rhine Valley, seeing old fashioned German villages. You can make an optional boat trip along the famous Lorelei rock. From Koblenz we continue in one our to Cologne, famous old Roman city on the Rhine River. From the many churches we climb the towers of the main cathedral to admire the view. We walk through the city for about 1 hour.
Day 7
We leave for Amsterdam, but first we visit the oldest town in Holland : Maastricht. Founded in Roman times it still has an Roman bridge across the River Maas and many old churches. We continue to Amsterdam Airport.
